APPLICATION:
Presently accepting applications from Women &/or Mothers who would like
to explore a residential program called WOMANCRAFT, in the heart of Utah, USA. The topics
include fertility awareness, herbology, yoga, perinatal psychology, childbirth and breastfeeding education,
lotus birth, lay midwifery, dream work, parenting, etc. and any topics that would be important to the
participants. Application is US$33 -- send to Hygieia House, 10 N. State St. Joseph UT 84739
If you have read this far, many thanks you for your interest in the Apprenticeship Program
with yours truly, Jeannine Parvati Baker. The Apprenticeship Program is ongoing. You may begin
and end at any time.*
The program will focus on WOMANCRAFT -- the possible mother, pre and perinatal psychology,
fertility awareness, herbology, astrology, yoga, (seasonal) organic gardening, (seasonal) vision
camps, childbirth and breastfeeding education, eco-activism, intactivism, lay midwifery, freebirth,
lotus birth, dreamtime work, natural healing, and whatever apprentices need to know about living an
authentic life the way the Earth wants at this time.
You will live in the house next door (set on 1/3rd acre) to where Halley and Quinn, Jeannine's
teenagers, live - it is a quaint two-story, old farmhouse with porches, built in 1904. It has 3
bedrooms, a large living room and dining room, 1 bathroom, 1 office, and small kitchen and sits on
the corner of Main and Center Streets. Joseph is in the heart of Utah and is a quiet little town
(population is under 200 people). It is in the exact center of the state, less than three minutes
from Interstate 70. Located midway between Denver and Los Angeles, Richfield is the county seat
with about 7000 residents and the closest "big city" -- only 15 minutes away by car. There is some
theater (e.g. we saw Shakespeare this year at the Richfield Event Center).

We are 10 minutes away from Mystic Hot Springs with indoor and outdoor concerts -- so there is some
culture outside of the predominantly Mormon Mainstream. Otherwise, Joseph just may be America's most
distraction-free town - an ideal place to focus on studies. There is no public transportation and
the town is virtually free of pollution, save the infrequent motor vehicle. Our family joke as we leave
the driveway and turn onto Main Street is, "Guess we missed the rush hour traffic again."
We founded a food buying club many years ago in Sevier County and it is still going strong. Once
a month Tucson Cooperative Warehouse ships in organic foods, herbal and food supplements, and all
sorts of eco-wise household products found in the best health food stores at a 30% discount. There
is no fee for joining - you are only required to help unload the truck and sort the shipment.
The duration of the Apprenticeship is (*minimum) 1week, though 1 month is better (up to 6 months -
or perhaps longer if all parties agree). The first week or moon is to see how we get along with one
another, if the program serves our needs and if our desires can be openly negotiated. Some apprentices
return in different seasons for varying amounts of time. We will enter a written agreement with
deposits** to be paid in advance of you moving.
There will be a nominal fee for applying of $13US -- plus $20US for the casting of a natal horoscope--
Tropical/Placidus House System -- Include your birth place (city, state/ province and/or latitude and
longitude and country), exact birth time and birth date with request. The total Application fee is $33US
and non-refundable. Apprentices will have a monthly Tuition of $2000US including room (rent) but not board.
Weekly tuition is $600.
There is an extensive library (books, journals, videos, etc.) and a budding herb garden so materials not
including your own transportation and personal needs will be covered by the Tuition. First consideration
will be given to Hygieia College students already enrolled in the Home Study Course.
There is limited room for mothers with children so if you are serious, and want to Apprentice with a baby
or child, I suggest that you apply sooner than later. Children will share rooms with their mothers.
** Non-refundable deposit to hold your place is $108 and will be deducted from last week's Tuition.
An additional charge of $150/child/week is required.
