Autumn 2005 Newsletter
© Jeannine Parvati Baker
Forgive me. It has been more than a season since my last newsletter.
So I ask for your continued and loyal patience.
It’s just that I’ve never died before.
Dear Jeannine,
We have never met (in person) before, but I am writing to let you know that I
feel as if we have met, because you were an inspiration and catalyst for the
direction my life took more than 20 years ago. At that time, at about 20
years old, I walked into Rainbow Grocery in S. F. and discovered
your book,
Pregnancy Yoga, with the radiant photos of you and your beautiful children,
and a calling I felt in my soul took form. I’m not sure if I’d know that a
midwife was before that time, but I’d had dreams of cosmic uteruses plus a
longing to live close to the earth, to healing plants, to divine mother
nature. In seeing your image and reading your inspired words, it was as if
the universe were giving form to my as of yet unformed longings. Over the
years I became a doula and worked for a time as an apprentice to a midwife. I
also have practiced pregnancy massage for years, and hoped to study with you
in your Hygieia College home study course, but that never came to pass. In
the past five years I fulfilled my dream to move to the county to live on the
land and raise my daughter, Yara, now almost 5. I live in the country now,
and had the opportunity to run into your fiend, Nan, at the farmer’s market.
I had heard of your illness and had given some money at Rosemary’s, and asked
how you were feeling. She told me you were unable to receive a liver
transplant, and are entering hospice. She also said that she knows that you
could heal this if you could get in touch with the vernal of the illness, but
it eludes you. Her saying that rang such a chord in me, because the day
before I felt called to buy a book I’d never seen before by an author I
hadn’t known of the name Brandon Bay. Her book and her work, both called
“The Journey”, assist people in connecting to theses very issues. It sounds like
she and her work have had much success. If it speaks to you, she offers her
number at the end of the book: 1-866-860-0910, and her email: into@the
journey.com. Her website is: www.thejourney.com.
Wherever your journey may
lead, I am certain it is toward good and will be filled with love. I thank
you for the blessings your pen and spirit have bestowed upon my live, and I
hold you dear in my prayers and heart.
Many blessings!
In gratitude and love,
Jill
True to my nature I would like to invite everybody who reads this to join
me at noon October 23,
for 13 minutes. Then please take these distilled
essence of your meditation and write to me your word tincture.
In other words,
what is left unsaid? Now is the time to say it. This is called settling my
spiritual affairs.
For me spirit can also mean intimacy. Thus my invitation
is to the deepest intimacy possible from my home in Joseph.
So please dose me
generously.

Dear Jeannine,
I can only think of one thing -- the river returning to the ocean. All rivers
do, and that is that, for us all. You and I are 1.
Thank you, too, for sharing
the spiritual journey
the peace
the crooked trail
all your poems, and word medicine
your insight
Its BIG as the sky
I really cannot quite imagine the trail without you and Mary,
But you’ll still be there, as will I
Invisible and stronger.
Well, good night, I love you.
Pravahi
Again, please no phone calls.
However, letters, cards, gifts (by all means
presents, and donations made to Quin Baker, or Six Directions Foundation, or
in my name, especially if it is a small amount under $100).

I AM DRUMMING EXPECIALLY FOR YOU AT THE FIRE PLACE. Sweet ones, Thank
you so much for the gifts. I just received them. The “Phantom” is Tom’s
favorite. I guess you knew that. I will cherish these treasures for all my
life. Thank you for gifting us especially in these days when you are ill. I
remember and hold so dear to my heart and soul our songs and travels - our
fires burning- our smokes to the Great Spirit- our special talks and walks
and the battles we’ve fought in the name of Free birth- Thank you adorable
sister- The Clan of Encouragement continues on! I am you.
I love you Eternally,
Sharon
The real purpose on October 23 is to link healing minds all over the
globe (maybe beyond?) so that we might magnify the celebration of life.
Eventually my ashes will be interned to a plot in my home town of Joseph
Utah. The Nile River Goddess ( ancient bird God - Us) is my chosen memorial
sculpture. This is to be unobtrusive and nameless.
If for some reason they
will not allow an unnamed urn, then to replace it with the word HYGIEIA.

My Dear Friend
Jeannine, You are in my heart and thoughts.
If there is anyway that I can
help you (from afar) surrender, I am willing. Your have given so much to so
many - time to receive, receive, receive.
I Love You Very Much,
Stephanie
Blessed Be &
Blessed Do,
